The Rock Wildlife Rescue is a charitable Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center located in Torbay Newfoundland, that focuses on the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife. We provide medical intervention, food and a safe haven for wildlife to recover before returning to their natural habitat.
In addition to the ongoing care we offer, The Rock Wildlife Rescue helps connect children and adults alike, to the wildlife that share this planet with us.
The Rock Wildlife Rescue started with a few cages in Karen's yard and a small room in her home for orphaned babies. In a few short years, The Rock has now grown into a rehabilitation center that helps close to 1000 animals a year. Karen had her Federal Permit but with no legislation in place in the Province of Newfoundland, she has been working with the Department of Wildlife in order to establish the framework for Provincial permits using rehabilitation licensing guidelines used in other Provinces across Canada. The Rock now holds both Federal and Provincial Permits and Karen is IWRC Certified.
The Rock Wildlife Rescue is the first and only privately owned wildlife rehabilitation center in the Province of Newfoundland.
