Since 1964, we have been the sole affordable housing provider for seniors in Rocky View County, operating four independent manors and three Senior lodges. However, the urgent need for expansion is growing, as more seniors require safe, stable, and affordable homes in our region.

For most Canadians, retirement is a time to enjoy meaningful connections with family, friends, and community—a time to engage in activities that bring a sense of purpose and belonging. Unfortunately, for many seniors, that vision is slipping away.

With the rising cost of housing and inflation, an alarming number of seniors are being forced into unsafe, substandard living conditions or are being displaced from the communities they’ve called home for decades. Losing access to familiar supports and relationships is not just heartbreaking—it directly impacts their well-being. This is unacceptable.

The affordable housing crisis in Canada is worsening, and in Alberta, seniors are among those most affected. No one should face retirement with:

• The impossible choice between nutritious food and rent
• The heartbreak of leaving the community where they’ve built their lives
• The devastating mental and physical health effects of stress, loneliness, and poverty
