About THE ROTARY CLUB OF GUELPH SOUTH CHARITABLE FOUNDATION INC.
Currently we are accepting donations supporting the teams competing for the BEST SPELLERS cup in the 2015 GRATE GROAN UP SPELLING BEE.
Proceeds from this year's event will support:
Westwood Public School Breakfast Program (Guelph) Providing a nutritious breakfast helps children concentrate and learn more effectively. It is estimated that teachers gain about 30 minutes a day in effective teaching time. Plus, breakfast programs improve attendance and test scores and lead to fewer dropouts. Good nutrition also leads to better academic performance, and better prospects.
Olive Tree Projects (Haiti) Olive Tree Projects’ maternity centre provides a safe, clean place for labour and delivery, as well as offering prenatal, delivery, and post delivery care. By providing complete prenatal care OTP reduces maternal mortality and helps keep children in their families. Comprehensive education classes include breastfeeding, nutrition, infant development, how to make baby toys, and physcosocial development.
J.O.E. (Guelph) J.O.E. is a grassroots social enterprise. It was created because a small group of parents shared a common goal: inclusive, innovative employment opportunities for their adult son or daughter, each of whom has a developmental disability. Small in number, J.O.E. staff members are diverse in their interests, strengths, and life skill competencies reflecting a cross section and continuum of abilities.
