The Rotary Club of Toronto West is a member club of Rotary International and part of District 7070, an organization of professional persons, united worldwide, which provides humanitarian service, encourages ethical standards in all vocations and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. This is exemplified in Rotary's official motto: "Service Above Self". Our club has a very rich and eventful history, with the original charter dating back to 1955. We meet weekly at The Montgomery's Inn, a historic museum in Etobicoke, located in west Toronto.
Our membership is a cross section of the business and professional community, plus an ever increasing complement of active young men and women to nurture and sustain our club in the new millennium. We believe in strong fellowship, principally through our weekly meetings, where we explore and discuss a broad range of interesting topics, as well as through committee participation that helps to foster deeper friendships, mutual respect and understanding.
We provide ample opportunities for participation and fulfillment by engaging in a variety of events and fund-raising activities. We work very closely within our community, contributing our efforts and experience and the funds that we raise for worthy causes. We are also active in our District, and support selected projects in Canada and internationally. Within our club, as throughout the Rotary world, race, nationality, sex, religion or politics do not enter into the criteria for membership.
We always welcome visitors and guests to enjoy a complimentary breakfast on Thursdays at the Montgomery's Inn. Check our calendar and come out to hear one of our interesting speakers chat on a wide variety of topics. Enjoy some convivial time together and meet our fun and always friendly members.
