About THE ROYAL CANADIAN COLLEGE OF ORGANISTS
The Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO) is a national arts service organization with a passion for the organ and its music. We support, promote, and celebrate, Canadian organists, composers, organ-builders, educators, choir directors, and others who share our passion by providing resources and opportunities through our programmes and services. We seek to enrich the lives of Canadians by engaging the wider public in Canada’s rich organ heritage and vibrant organ culture.
The RCCO provides a wide variety of programmes including: professional development opportunities, youth training programmes, promotion of emerging artists, examinations leading to certification, publication of Canadian organ and choral music, scholarships and bursaries, and several honorary awards. We also support our community by providing essential services such as educational resources, communications, and support for the church organist and choir director.
About Our Funds
Scholarships, Prizes and National Initiatives
Every year, the RCCO provides many scholarships and awards associated with our Examinations, organ playing competitions and other College activities. In addition to scholarships and prizes, other supported activities include the Summer Organ Academy, Travelling Clinicians Program, Publications, Project Grants, scholarships for beginning organists, travel assistance for College officers, and various other initiatives mandated by the Board of Directors. Support for this fund allows us to ensure that we can continue to provide these incentives, and encourage and support Canadian Organists.
Organ Truck Project
The Royal Canadian College of Organists is excited to announce the launch of a fundraising campaign for an Organ Truck! The Organ Truck will bring organ music to the public by presenting outdoor concerts at popular pedestrian locations, nursing homes, and to under-served communities across southern Ontario.
The RCCO Organ Truck will be our way of giving back to our community while raising the profile of the organ and the people who play it. Each concert will be under an hour and will feature organists from the local area playing music for people who may be hearing, and seeing, an organ for the first time! Please consider supporting this project if you able. Each and every gift is deeply appreciated.
