The Salvation Army East Toronto seeks to respond to the needs of individuals within the community by providing a safe and caring environment where people have access to tools and resources which will inspire hope and build confidence while maintaining dignity and worthy. 

The Salvation Army East Toronto has many different programs that go on throughout the entire year. Our main program is our food bank where individuals and families are able to come on a monthly basis to receive food assistance. Through out food bank we are also able to assist with furniture and household items as well as assisting individuals receive a mattress through a local mattress program.

Every Thursday approximately 80-100 individuals from the community come for a hot, nutritious lunch. This lunch program runs year-round. 

Throughout the year we also have programs that run for four weeks at a time such as a community kitchen where individuals can learn to cook healthy while also cooking on a budget and conversation circle where those people who speak a second language can spend some time practicing their English while meeting new people from their community. 

At Christmas we see our busiest days as we provide food hampers and toys to hundreds of individuals and families. We also serve three hot Christmas meals in the week prior to Christmas. 

During the summer we send close to 75 children to the Salvation Army camps in Jackson's Point and Huntsville where kids can spend a week in the great outdoors having fun climbing ropes, swimming, canoeing and doing so many more fun activities.
