about

Mission Statement

The Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.

About Us

Each month we help 300 families with Emergency Food Hampers.  These 300 families represent over 800 individuals (32% are children).  Monthly approximately 17,000 pounds of food is given out.  We always welcome Food Drives and are so appreciative of the community’s support.  Join us at a Gaither Style Concert (last Sunday of the month).

Seasonally, we offer Free Tax Clinics in March and April.  Children are sent to Camp in July and August. Backpacks and School Supplies are provided in September.  Coats are provided in October and November through our annual Coats 4 Kids Drive.  In December, Christmas Assistance is provided (Toys and Christmas Dinner) to all in need.

Throughout the year, we offer English Conversation Circles for our newcomers to Canada, Life Skills Classes (Stress Management, Assertiveness Training, Budgeting, Computer Skills, etc.) to those wishing to learn and grow.  We offer regular Cooking Classes and host Food Safety Trainings.  We host twice weekly exercise classes for Women and we have a Communal Garden to increase food security and wellness.

COVID-19 PANDEMIC

We are a local Food Bank supporting low income needy families.  We have more than quadrupled our home delivery service of Food Boxes due to this COVID-19 pandemic.  Many cannot get to us, so we are making sure food reaches their doorsteps.  Please help us to share hope and help at this critical time.
