The Learning Center for Hamilton provides free Orton-Gillingham tutoring to children diagnosed with dyslexia.
The Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation Learning Centre for Hamilton is the newest Learning Centre in Canada. It was incorporated in June 2016 and officially opened in 2018. To date twelve children have graduated from the program.
The Learning Centre for Niagara, a satellite of the LC for Hamilton, is situated in St. Catharines and will serve the children of the Niagara Valley. Tutoring will begin at the centre in the fall of 2026.
The Learning Centre provides free, quality, evidence-based Orton-Gillingham tutoring to children with dyslexia. Children receive one-on-one tutoring two times each week during the school year. Typically it takes a child two to three years to complete the program.
The Learning Centres for Hamilton and Niagara are sustained through donations. These donations allow the centres to provide tutoring at no cost to the child or the family. Your donation will make a difference, be it a one time donation, monthly or a sustaining annual donation and will help the Learning Centres continue 'helping children with dyslexia to read'.
