The Search Party is committed to bringing emotionally powerful and aesthetically rigorous productions to Vancouver’s stages. A text-based theatre with a decidedly modern appeal, the company seeks out stories that explore the intricacies and contradictions in our human connections and experiences. The Search Party is drawn to plays of humour, compassion and in-depth storytelling that don’t shy away from the darker aspects of the human condition to expose our shared humanity.

The Search Party is the reciepient of numerous awards and accolades. Noted as the new company to watch - it has gathered an excitement for its artistic excellence and provactive storytelling.

The Search Party is dedicated to community engagement and supporting the development of artists.It has initiated two programs to support equity deserving and emerging artists; 1) In collaboration with Hogan’s Alley Society, we created The Black Performing Artist Award. The intention behind this $250 annual award is to honour and bring awareness to a local Black artist. 2)The company hosts an annual one-week residency in Whistler where any performing artist from the Lower Mainland is eligible to apply for a time of creative exploration, board retreat or playwriting intensive. There are no deliverables - the intention is to create a low-barrier, low maintenance time of rejuvenation.
