Our Mission

The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre is a faith based, non-profit organization dedicated to providing shelter and a continuum of client focused, quality care and support services to the elders of the Jewish community.

Guided by the core Jewish values kedushah/santity, derech eretz/respect for all people, and kavod/honour due each person, the organization, in close collaboration with the community, strives to improve the quality of life for all who use its services.

About THE SHARON HOME FUND INC

The philosophy of The Sharon Home is founded on Jewish tradition, which encompasses respect for elders and responsibility for the welfare of others. This tradition take into account recognition of support that has been generously given by the community - past, present and future - and it is understood that it is the cornerstone of our achievements.

We recognize that staff and volunteers are the most important resources. We understand that our mission can only be achieved through the combined efforts of staff, volunteers, clients and their caregivers. We provide an environment that encourages people to learn and flourish.

We continuously strive to improve in the delivery of health and social services to the elderly and their caregivers. We provide care that emphasizes and capitalizes on the individual strengths of each client and family member and embraces the notion of autonomy.

If you are interested in contributing to The Simkin Centre Family Education Fund please contact the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba at 204-477-7520.  This fund was established by the Brodovsky and Tauber families and provides educational financial assistance to a child and/or dependent of a long term employee of the Simkin Centre.
