The Sisterhood of St. John the Divine is a contemporary expression of the religious life for women within the Anglican Church of Canada.
We are an Anglican Monastic Community of Sisters founded in 1884. Since our founding we have ministered across Canada and established hospitals, schools, home for the aged, an orphanage and homes for the disabled from branch houses and our main Convent. Our present life and work continue to draw the engaged interest of many people of all ages, those of religion or none from across Canada and beyond, who come for a visit or stay at our guest/retreat house in Toronto, Ontario. We provide an essential sacred space for teaching, healing, caring and loving the people God brings to us. We are dedicated to offering retreats, spiritual direction, formation and outreach in the community by being a stable and radiating center of the presence and power of Christ, within the church and society through personal transformation and empowerment.
