Migdal Ohr was founded in 1972 by Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman for the express purpose of providing education and social guidance for children from single-parents, underprivileged, and troubled homes, as well as orphans and new immigrants.  Over the years, the Migdal Ha'Emek institution evolved into a huge educational enterprise with a student body numbering over 6,500 children. Migdal Ohr's national educational network is comprised of day care centers, nursery schools, high schools and boarding schools with academic and vocational studies, immigrant absorption activities and a prisoner rehabilitation program.  Migdal Ohr's model has proven successful at repairing the damaged lives of children and giving them the love, self-esteem and education they need to reach their maximum potential. Today Migdal Ohr is a "tower of light", not only for Migdal Ha'Emek and the Galilee, but for the children of Israel under the inspirational leadership of its founder and leader, Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman.Rabbi Grossman's unconditional love has made him beloved by all who know him. Over the years he has received numerous accolades and prestigious awards including; "Love of Israel" in 1983, "Best of the decade" in 1991, and "The Israel Prize" in 2004, Israel's most prestigious award.
