Welcome Collective is a Montreal-based organization that helps newly arrived refugee claimants seeking protection from persecution, war, and other hardships begin their new lives in our city.

We provide better access to a new start by reducing the stress, isolation, and other difficulties faced by refugee claimants as they move into empty apartments with few possessions, no community, and little understanding of life in Canada.

We make sure that their essential material needs are met by gathering basic furniture, kitchen items, and winter clothing, and we help them access the social services that they need for themselves and their children.  

We are inspired by the conviction that bringing a community of volunteers together to support asylum seekers and refugees eases the trauma associated with immigration and strengthens community bonds between longtime residents and newcomers. In turn, this contributes to the development of a stronger and fairer society.
