The Word On The Street is dedicated to promoting literacy and championing books by celebrating our Indigenous and Canadian authors and storytellers. Our free annual street festival highlights the stories that connect us.
Originally held as a single-day event on Toronto's Queen St. West in 1990 for International Literacy Year, The Word On The Street (a.k.a. "WOTS") has grown to include virtual and in-person workshops and community programming to complement its free annual street fair in downtown Toronto.
We invite you to join us for our 36th annual Word On The Street festival on September 27-28, 2025.
