The Writers’ Guild of Alberta has a deadline – and we need your help to burn the midnight oil! And this year, all your donations to the WGA will be generously matched in support by writer and supporter Scott Saxberg! There are 31 days left for you to strike a match and double your impact.

What does your donation fuel? 

With over 1000 members in Alberta, the WGA is proud to support writers from across genres, forms, and expertise. We’ve had a record-high number of new members this year, and your donations help us provide consistent services and events at the lowest cost we can–including opportunities to learn and share, meet other writers, and enrich the literary community.

Your funds will go towards:

• Professional Development
• Youth Programs
• Mentorship 
• Equity and Advocacy
• Fair Compensation for Writers

You can also choose to direct your donations to a specific program, such as youth writing, scholarships, awards, and endowments. This December, your monthly donation pledge will also be matched for all of 2026 year by Scott Saxberg, with 4% of your donation going towards processing with Canada Helps to ensure that your funds are transparently used and your receipts accounted for.
