We are working to address a lack of safety, disconnection, and disempowerment among folks in our communities. We work with adults and youth facing challenges with mental health and addictions, poverty, violence, at-risk youth, women and children fleeing abuse, and imprisonment.
"Our community yoga programs offer individuals an opportunity to learn self-regulation, to feel safe within their bodies, and to be part of a group atmosphere, removed from isolation.”
In our yoga programs we work to address safety both in one's own physical body as well as in the physical space one is in. We work to build a reconnection for our students with their bodies as safe spaces and with others in the room as a community the can practice and connect with.
“Isolation is a big component of posttraumatic stress. One of the first steps towards recovery from trauma, is the reestablishment of safety, both bodily and social, and we can’t do that alone.”
