Since 1896, Yonge Street Mission (YSM) has worked to transform the lives of people living with poverty. We are on a mission to end long-term poverty in Toronto by working in partnership with others to support life change, develop healthy communities and remove systemic barriers. Our ultimate vision is to create a city where people, not poverty, thrive. We steadily work toward our vision using our wrap-around model of personalized care which offers immediate relief through drop-in meals and Food Bank support, as well as comprehensive, holistic employment and housing services, free mental health and health care, childcare, and more. We walk alongside vulnerable youth, families in need, and adults experiencing poverty to overcome the barriers which keep them trapped in hardship and, ultimately, move them from merely surviving to thriving.
