About The York School
The York School began as a non-profit corporation in 1965, operating several Montessori-based nursery school programmes until 1978, when it opened an elementary school in North Toronto.
In 1997, York was designated an International Baccalaureate World School authorized to offer the IB Diploma in the last two years of high school.
In March 2005, York became the first school in Canada - and the fourth in North America - accredited to offer a continuous, integrated programme from JK to university entrance.
From the Early Years Programme (JK-SK) to Grade 12, our programme emphasizes development of research, problem solving and time-management skills within the context of the IB curriculum.
