Toronto Outdoor Picture Show

about

Toronto Outdoor Picture Show (TOPS) is a charitable organization dedicated to bringing high quality, diverse, and engaging outdoor film programming to communities across the city of Toronto. Its mission is to foster cultural memories in public spaces, and to highlight local and Canadian filmmaking artistry alongside popular and critically-acclaimed cinema from around the world.

The festival’s carefully curated programme includes a combination of popular and critically-acclaimed feature films from around the world alongside local and Canadian short and feature films that allow us to celebrate excellent homegrown talent.

TOPS’ began as Christie Pits Film Festival in 2011, founded by Artistic & Executive Director Emily Reid, snowballing into a cornerstone of west end Toronto’s summer calendar as it grew rapidly. In January 2015, the organization incorporated as a not-for-profit in the name of Toronto Outdoor Picture Show, and in 2020 as a charity. For the past decade it has presented programming in several communities across Toronto each summer, with an annual attendance exceeding 25,000.
