The Toronto All-Star Big Band is a non-profit organization that revives the spirit, style and sound of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s.
Our Mission
The missions of the Toronto All-Star Big Band are
• to provide an outstanding development opportunity for keen young musicians aged 15 to 22 to realize their artistic potential through education and performance, seeking the highest level of achievement within a challenging, nurturing and collaborative environment;
• to serve a broad community with accessible programming and high calibre productions at a range of performance venues.
About TORONTO ALL STAR BIG BAND
Managed by a volunteer Board of Directors and directed by a faculty that includes Artistic Director, Conductors and Vocal Coaches, the Toronto All-Star Big Band cultivates an enthusiastic team of volunteers involved with program delivery, fundraising and promotion.
Our important scholarship program rewards participating musicians with student bursaries and summer student employment. Graduates of the Toronto All-Star Big Band are uniquely prepared for future careers as professional musicians in Canada.
Based in Etobicoke, the Toronto All-Star Big Band serves its home constituents through participation and performance. Ambassadors for Etobicoke, the members of the Toronto All-Star Big Band reach a vast community of concert-goers across the GTA and throughout south-central Ontario, delivering over 80 public performances per year to audiences numbering in excess of 100,000.
