about

Our Mission

The Toronto Lung Transplant Civitan Club Inc. is a registered charity comprised of volunteers who's community base is the Lung Transplant Program at Toronto General Hospital, UHN. Our primary goals are:

* Provide support for the Lung Transplant Program at Toronto General   Hospital, UHN and lung transplant candidates who have to relocate from out of town temporarily while waiting for a life saving lung transplant

* Promote Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness for the Trillium Gift of Life Network to increase donor registration rates in Canada.

About TORONTO LUNG TRANSPLANT CIVITAN CLUB INC.

Our members are comprised of Lung transplant recipients and Caregivers who volunteer their time and effort to provide both financial and moral support for people with similar circumstances. These members were given the gift of a second chance at life and would like to give back to their community by pursuing a common dream and nurturing it into a reality.

Because of health reasons many patients are already unable to work and must request funding from various sources. Health induced stress in itself can be emotionally taxing without having to worry about finding accommodations. Our outreach programs and services are there to assist pre and post lung transplant patients and their caregivers through their transplant journey.
To fulfil this mission, the club members raise funds by conducting various fundraising campaigns, sale of spirometers and other medical devices, organ donor awareness merchandise, craft and bake sales, entertainment events and requests for public and corporate donations.
