Toronto Wildlife Centre (TWC) is a registered charity dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife, and to educating the public on wildlife issues. Since opening in 1993, we have admitted over 120,000 wild animals from 300 species. Our primary area of work is the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), but we help people and wildlife far beyond its borders. Our programs and services include:
- Wildlife Hotline: Handling over 40,000 calls yearly, helping people find humane, mutually beneficial solutions to wildlife situations.
- Wildlife Rescue: Carrying out difficult rescues in the community daily.
- Wildlife Hospital: Diagnosing wild patients and providing medical treatments, including surgery and emergency care.
- Wildlife Rehabilitation: Providing approximately 6,000 wild animals with species-specific care annually, with the goal of releasing healthy animals back to the wild.
- Education and Outreach: Engaging people through presentations, booths, and workshops at schools and events, and through our website, social and traditional media, and newsletters.
