We champion quality trails for self-propelled & accessible recreation and active transportation for all ages and abilities in B.C.
Since 1994, Trails Society of BC has been working to help establish and develop the Trans Canada Trail in B.C.
Our new Greenways for All initiative is focused on building partnerships with First Nations, rural communities, organizations and governments to help ensure everyone is able to safely incorporate walking, cycling and rolling into their daily lives.
We are also working to help stop the damage caused by motorized vehicle that make rail trails difficult to walk, cycle and roll on. Especially since these trails were funded and worked on by people who thought they were working on a non-motorized rail trail.
Your contributions are critical to our work on these and other initiatives to improve trails around B.C.
Rail trails and other greenway trails are highly valued assets to adjacent communities for active transportation and sustainable green tourism destinations around the world.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become abundantly clear that the people of British Columbia seek open space and nature trails for walking, cycling and rolling opportunities. Physical and mental health has been highlighted during this pandemic and government needs to fund infrastructure projects that help people find ways to get outside safely such as nature trails.
Trails BC operates on ancestral, traditional and unceded territories.
