Tmixʷ Trails is an interactive learning opportunity for Okanagan Indigenous youth to engage with Elders and community members from the Syilx Nation. Using trails within the territory as a setting we will share traditional storytelling, legends and traditional knowledge. To highlight the positive benefits of being outdoors from a cultural perspective, activities will include: Educational tours for identification of Native plant species, and invasive plant species identification along with games such as bird/plant bingo. This new Indigenous Youth led project is currently being facilitated by Trails BC.

We are asking for your help because it is customary to offer Elders honorariums to share their time and knowledge in a structured learning event such as Tmixʷ Trails. Your generous contribution will also help provide honorariums for Indigenous Elders and community members with healthy snacks and beverages during the trail guides, Indigenous Youth project staff and to supply youth, Tmixʷ Trails trips.
