COVID-19 crisis: Help people in the Himalayas on #GivingTuesdayNow, May 5, 2020
During the COVID-19 crisis, people worldwide are helping each other in many ways, including making donations on #GivingTuesdayNow, May 5, 2020, to help those suffering from the effects of the pandemic.
With the India-wide lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the poorest people in rural areas are dealing with loss of income, hunger and possible starvation. Our partners at the TRAS Voice of Children project in the foothills of the Himalayas are now delivering vitally needed food and sanitation supplies, with financial support from TRAS.
We know you in Canada and elsewhere are also suffering the effects of this virus in many difficult and tragic ways. However, if you would like to support our partners' emergency response to deliver food and essential supplies, please donate on #GivingTuesdayNow, May 5, 2020.
TRAS needs to raise $5,000 to cover groceries for 200 families and sanitary supplies for 400 teenage girls and young women.
$20 will buy basic groceries for a family for 1 month, or sanitary and disinfecting supplies for 11 households.
$100 will buy enough groceries for five families for 1 month.
Thank you for your generosity at this challenging time,
