TREE CANADA

about

Who We Are:

Since 1992, Tree Canada has worked relentlessly to grow Canada’s tree canopy through our greening programs, research, and engagement efforts. We are the only national non-profit organization dedicated to planting and nurturing trees in rural and urban environments. Our track record of collaborating with all levels of government, the urban forestry sector, business partners, and community groups uniquely positions us to engage Canadians in the fight against climate change.

Our Programs:

At Tree Canada, we plant the right trees in the right places to help grow better places to live. Through our programs, we green communities, restore forests affected by disasters, and support urban forest research. We work with municipalities, schools, Indigenous communities, and corporate partners to improve air quality, restore biodiversity, and fight climate change. Every September, we celebrate our shared commitment to nature on National Tree Day.

Our Impact:

In 2024, Tree Canada made significant strides in reforestation and community greening thanks to the dedication of our partners, donors, and volunteers. Over 2.2 million trees were planted, restoring more than 1,400 hectares of rural land. Our programs supported green initiatives in 132 communities nationwide, and over 9,000 volunteers joined us at planting events across every province, demonstrating Canadians’ growing commitment to a greener future.
