Devastating monsoon floods in Pakistan are forcing families to flee their homes and has already killed more than 1,000 people.

Over 30 million people have been affected by these torrential rains and the floods have left 6.4 million people in need of immediate support.

"Rain and floods have been catastrophic for millions of people. We urgently need global support and solidarity for Pakistan in these dire times," said Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, calling for urgent support to the emergency response led by the Government of Pakistan.

UNHCR is on the ground, distributing life saving support to affected communities. UNHCR has provided refugee villages with 71,000 emergency relief items such as tents, plastic tarpaulins, sanitary products, cooking stoves, blankets, solar lamps and sleeping mats.

But much more aid is needed now as we scale up our response. Here is how your donation could help:

  • $2 is enough to provide a jerry can to a flood displaced family in Pakistan to fetch water
  • $4 can provide a plastic bucket to a person affected by the flood in Pakistan
  • $21 can provide a kitchen set to a family affected by the floods in Pakistan, allowing them to prepare meals
  • $22 is enough to provide a solar lamp to a flood-displaced person in Pakistan, allowing them access to affordable and sustainable energy in areas where electricity might be inaccessible
  • $26 is enough to provide blankets to a family affected by the devastating flood in Pakistan
  • $400 can provide a tent to a family following the loss of their home due to the recent floods in Pakistan, providing them shelter and protection from the elements
