Displaced families need your emergency support straight away.
The 7.4 magnitude earthquake and tsunami in Sulawesi Island on Friday 28 September has killed 840 and injured more than 600 others. More than 60,000 people have been displaced and with damaged houses and aftershocks continuing, thousands of people are unable to return to their homes.
A total of 1.5 million people are estimated to be affected by this disaster, with numbers likely to increase. As search and rescue efforts are underway, UNHCR is standing to deliver emergency aid including shelter, medical care, food and non-food items and clean water. This offered support includes family tents and providing expert assistance in the protection of children, the elderly and people with disabilities.
UNHCR is planning to airlift family tents and Refugee Housing Units to shelter thousands of people, as this has been a priority identified by the Government. Your gift will help UNHCR respond to the needs of families who have lost everything in this heartbreaking disaster.
