The City of Kawartha Lakes has one of the highest rates of food insecurity in Ontario. We developed Edwin Binney's Community Farm & Education Centre to combat the symptoms of food insecurity that our neighbours and community members are experiencing. 

We donate our harvest to food banks, shelters, social housing residences, and other community food programs. In order to support a more food secure local system, we offer educational hands-on workshops for schools, camps and youth groups to instruct on local ecology and biology, as well as understanding where food comes from and how to grow it. 

In order to offer these necessary programs and food donations, we rely on the generosity of others in understanding the value of our Farm and supporting this initiative. 

A donation of $25.00 can supply a week's worth of fresh produce for a family. 

A donation of $50.00 can supply two weeks of fresh produce for a family.

A donation of $100.00 can send an entire class on a farm field trip.
