Supporting recovery in Halifax and surrounding areas

Communities need a wide variety of supports and services when rebuilding after a climate change disaster such as a wildfire.

The wildfires in the Tantallon and Hammonds Plains area, as well as Shelburne County, have displaced thousands of residents, threatened or destroyed hundreds of homes, and have changed neighbourhoods forever.

The United Way Halifax Wildfire Recovery Appeal will specifically prioritize those experiencing poverty or marginalization, to support people who may have limited access to resources during the recovery and rebuilding process.
