Up4 The Challenge inspires youth in grades 7–12 to use science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for social good. Through hands-on, design-thinking workshops, participants tackle real community challenges – ranging from food insecurity to climate resilience and ethical AI – by imagining and prototyping sustainable solutions. Led by women leaders in science and engineering, our programs emphasize equity, creativity, and human-centered design. Since its founding, Up4 The Challenge has delivered more than 50 programs across Ontario, reaching over 1,500 youth through workshops, design challenges, and mentorship initiatives in collaboration with schools, universities, and community organizations. Up4’s work has been recognized through multiple awards and partnerships that reflect the organization’s commitment to inclusive STEM education and community impact. By sparking enthusiasm and building skills, we empower youth to see themselves as capable change-makers and future STEM innovators.
