Urban Safari Rescue Society is the only registered charity in the Province of BC dedicated to the rescue and sanctuary of exotic animals. Our other mission is to educate the public about exotic animals and why, in many cases, they do not make good pets. We also educate about animals in general, the natural world and worldwide animal conservation.

We currently house and care for 350 exotic comprising of all animal families - arachnids, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds and fish. These animals were all former pets from people who can no longer care for them or animals seized by the BC Dept. of Fish and Wildlife and brought to us for care and housing.

We go to hundreds of schools every year, preschool, elementary, secondary, and college level,  and do presentations with the animals. We teach the students about the animals, concepts such as habitat, adaptations and conservation. We also adapt our presentation to support lesson plans and curriculum that is being taught in the school.

We also hold camps, clubs and courses at our facility all aimed at bridging the disconnect most youth have to the natural world and misconceptions around animals and their value in the world.
