Urban Stable empowers youth to overcome challenges and positively engage in their education and community through hands-on learning experiences with horses. 

About Urban Stable

Urban Stable is a registered non-profit charitable organization that has been unbridling youth potential since 2001.

We understand the importance and growing need to keep our youth engaged with their education. Growing up can be challenging, students often experience stress, anxiety or isolation from not belonging to the popular cliques or feeling unsuccessful in classes. 

At Urban Stable we use horses to offer a unique form of experiential learning where students can find self-discovery, awareness and confidence while participating in hands-on activities with horses. The stability of the programs’ routine, and the consistency, empathy, genuineness, clear communication and leadership of the horse, facilitates the development of life skills.

Urban Stable looks to enrich young learners by engaging and empowering them to face life’s challenges in a safe, caring, and supportive environment that provides the opportunity for youth to unbridle their potential.

Urban Stable is currently partnered with four Winnipeg and Manitoba School Divisions serving youth from 21 schools.

We provide a safe, stable teaching environment that is accepting of diversity and ability. We nurture trust, encouraging youth to open themselves to new opportunities and build meaningful connections with self, peers, families, schools, community, and nature.

Integrity

We remain true to our mission, work hard to provide exceptional programming and maximize the support of our partners and donors. We maintain the highest standard required by Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA) and Manitoba Physical Activity Safety in Schools (MPASS) in all aspects of program design, delivery, and organizational decision-making.

Learning

We deliver hands-on programs with horses that teach youth vital social, emotional, and physical skills and support them in transferring this learning to their school, home, and community.
