The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Society (VAMMR) is the only program of its kind in Canada.
Humans are impacting the ocean more than ever, with climate change, habitat destruction, over-fishing, underwater noise, plastic pollution and more. VAMMR helps mitigate those impacts by responding to more than 300 marine mammal emergencies annually. We operate Canada's only dedicated marine mammal hospital facility, and have rescued, rehabilitated and released thousands of marine mammals over more than 60 years of operation.
