The Vancouver Humane Society provides emergency medical care for animals in need through our McVitie Fund. Most often we help people on low incomes, such as old age or disability pensions, who are in danger of their sick companion animal being given up or euthanized due to their lack of resources.
We've helped hundreds of animals to date, such as Buddy the dog who was diagnosed with a hernia that needed immediate and expensive surgery. Thanks to our supporters we were able to donate towards his surgery and Buddy has since made a full recovery!
As an organization that receives no government funding, we are constantly stretched to our limits and rely entirely on the support of our generous donors, one of whom, has offered to match every donation made towards our McVitie Fund up until May 1st (up to the value of $25,000)!
We’re currently at just over $20,500 and we’d love to reach our target of $25,000 by the end of today. That way we’ll receive $50,000 for this program!
We need all the help we can get for our final push!
Thank you so much for your support! Your donation will make a real difference to so many animals lives - and their guardians too!
