OUR MISSION
The mandate of award-winning Vancouver Moving Theatre Society is to create innovative, accessible interarts and multi-disciplinary events and festivals; educational resources, and community-engaged art activity.
These cultural and artistic activities are produced in partnership with local arts and non-arts organizations in a spirit of collaboration, cooperation, and community-led renewal through the arts.

Founded in 1983, VMT Society is an award-winning Downtown Eastside-based professional arts organization recognized for innovative arts-based community development projects tailored with and for its inner-city community of the DTES
The primary activity of the VMT Society is the Downtown Eastside Heart of the City Festival, a high-impact and community-focused multi-arts festival that promotes and develops the culture, history, concerns, art and great stories about Vancouver's Downtown Eastside community.
