Our Mission
Our Mission: The Vancouver Recital Society seeks to foster and secure the future for classical chamber music and recitals by engaging and enlightening audiences through the presentation of the world’s finest musicians, both established and emerging.
About VANCOUVER RECITAL SOCIETY
Founded in 1980, the Vancouver Recital Society is one of Canada’s leading independent presenters of classical music recitals. Under the artistic direction of its founder, Leila Getz, C.M., O.B.C., DFA, the organization’s mandate is to present young classical musicians at the outset of their careers as well as those who have already achieved international status. Through its presentation of carefully chosen concerts of the highest artistic calibre, the VRS engages and deepens public appreciation and support for the recital and chamber music genres. To this end, the goals of the VRS include searching out and introducing innovative programs, and building new and diversified audiences for music through education and outreach activities that also strengthen the local performing arts community.
