Our Mission
Yaffa House is a Jewish group home and center for adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The uniqueness of Yaffa House in British Columbia is that it provides care, opportunity, and support within the context of Jewish values and practice. The intent of the Society is to maximize the individual potential, growth, personal fulfillment, and independence of its residents, as well as provide a centre within the Jewish community for mental health education, recreation, and support.
About Yaffa House
The Vancouver Yaffa Housing Society was organized in 1993 for the specific purpose of creating housing facilities having Jewish cultural and ethnic atmosphere and offering opportunities for those with mental disabilities to participate within the Jewish Community. Yaffa House opened its doors to its first five residents in 2000, and today offers a total inventory of 19 beds in four separate facilites.
