At Veerayatan Canada, we are thankful for your act of kindness. We know that donations must be used responsibly in order to achieve our mission. Quality of work matters, in conjunction with efficiency and cost-effectiveness. 100% of your donation goes towards the school. Veerayatan Canada retains no funds. (NOTE - donation is tax deductible in Canada - receipts are automatically sent by email)
Over half of the children in Haiti have incomplete primary education, and only about 20% go to high school. Due to severe poverty and instability, cost and funding are the major barriers.
We believe that education is a human right.
Through Veerayatan Canada, we are funding NOUVEAU DÉPART ÉCOLE COMMUNAUTAIRE DE SANTO (ND-ECS).
ND-ECS has 28 staff and over 700 students. We support children from kindergarten through high school, and many with special needs. For about $110 per year, we can support one student for a full year, including a daily meal. The school also supports community activities and is a safe haven.
