Victim Services Toronto provides immediate crisis response, intervention and prevention services which are responsive to the needs of individuals, families and communities affected by crime and sudden tragedies.
Our vision is to help victims of crime and sudden tragedies restore and enhance their quality of life while working to prevent further victimization in the diverse communities we serve.
Our Programs and Services
Victim Crisis Response Program: 24/7 Crisis counselling, practical assistance, information and referrals provided in the immediate aftermath of a crime or sudden tragic event such as: domestic violence, sexual assault, assault, homicide, elder abuse, juman trafficking, abduction/attempt abduction, hate crime, robbery, suicide, sudden death, ommunity disaster or crisis, other crimes and sudden tragic events
Victim Quick Response Program: Service coordination for victims of major violent crimes (strict eligibility criteria), linkages to services and define financial resources to assist with expenses directly related to crime (e.g. crime scene clean-up, funeral expenses, emergency expenses)
High Risk Support Services: Counselling, safety planning, safety devices (e.g. 9-1-1 linked cell phones, portable alarms), monitoring, linking and coordinating services for individuals and their families who at high risk of harm or death due to domestic violence
T.E.A.R. (Teens Ending Abusive Relationships): Youth-led initiative engaging youth through social media and workshops in local high schools to raise awareness of warning signs of abuse and provide youth with tools engage in healthy relationships and avoid unhealthy ones
