Victoria Angel Registry of Hope is a unique Canadian charity. We accept donated umbilical
cord blood from mothers and their newborn babies. The blood is collected at birth and
sent to our laboratory where the stem cells are extracted, frozen and tissue-typed.
Our bank has been accepted by the world’s international registry in the Netherlands;
physicians around the world can access our cord blood units to treat patients with over
80 different diseases. Most commonly, these stem cells are used to treat blood cancers
like leukemia and lymphoma as well as diseases such as thalassemia, TaySachs and Sickle
Cell. New research is showing promising results in treating brain damage from stroke,
cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s and autism. These stem cells are accepted by all religions
(except Jehovah Witness who don’t use blood products).
