The Victoria-based period-instrument ensemble was formed with the mission of bringing high-quality performances of Baroque music to the Vancouver Island audience, using the abundance of local skill and talent. The musicians are all from Victoria and nearby areas, and are well-established figures on the West-Coast music scene. Its individual members regularly perform with groups such as as the Pacific and Portland Baroque Orchestras, and the Victoria, Vancouver, and Vancouver Island Symphonies.

Since its formation in April 2011, the Victoria Baroque has become an established part of the Victoria's music scene and has gained an enthusiastic audience base. The ensemble has played eight full seasons at the Church of St John the Divine, Victoria, as well as performed in the Early Music Society of the Islands and Early Music Vancouver series, Eine Kleine Summer Music Series, Nanaimo Chamber Music Festival, and the Victoria Children's Choir's Classical Christmas Concert. Their first CD, "Virtuosi of the Baroque" was nominated for a West Coast Music award in 2015. Victoria Baroque’s guest directors have included Pacific Opera Victoria’s Timothy Vernon; Tafelmusik’s Jeanne Lamon; the leader of the English Baroque Soloists, Kati Debretzeni; and British harpsichordist Steven Devine.

Nurturing emerging talent is close to Victoria Baroque’s heart. Victoria Baroque’s educational workshops, Baroque Summer Program at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, and collaborations with the Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra have exposed and immersed music students in Baroque performance in an inspiring hands-on manner.
