The Victoria Heart Institute Foundation (VHIF) is dedicated to conducting and supporting cardiovascular research in Victoria. We seek to improve the health status of patients in our community through ethical research, education, contributions to patient care and appreciation of our patient volunteers, Investigators, staff and partners.
We conducts both clinical trials and academic research. We have participated in over 300 studies over the last three decades. Many of these projects have led to changes in clinical practice in our community. Highlights of our contribution to evidence based medicine have included improved treatment of heart attacks and heart failure, advancement of diagnostic tests and better treatment of blood clots. These achievements have improved the quality of life for patients with cardiovascular disease.
