About Our Charity
The purpose of the Volunteer Action Centre is to inspire and equip community organizations and community members for volunteerism by:
- Facilitating resources
The Centre gathers develops and disseminates trend and program research; tools and templates; and professional guidance and feedback to community organizations to strengthen service delivery through volunteer engagement. Attention will be paid to Recruitment/Referral/Recognition and Retention of volunteers
- Inspiring others & ourselves
Promoting and advocating for the need for and the impact of volunteerism in Waterloo Region to inspire, encourage, and motivate broader engagement
- Strengthening & building relationships that will support VAC & the community
Staff, board and volunteers of the Volunteer Action Centre will seek out relationships and partnerships that will enhance volunteerism in Waterloo Region. These partnerships will positively influence program and service delivery across all aspects of the 3rd Sector
- Building skills & knowledge for community benefit
In partnership with the Waterloo Wellington Learning Alliance the Volunteer Action Centre will enable, fuel, and empower community oriented work in the voluntary sector
