about

WWK (Wakati Wa Kafrika Center - Saskatoon and North America).

About Us:

WWK is a registered charitable organization with a dedicated bank account, committed to improving the lives of African newcomers, refugees, and other vulnerable populations in Saskatoon and across Canada. WWK provides settlement, integration, poverty reduction, and community development services through programs that promote social inclusion, employment readiness, and economic self-sufficiency.

WWK operates on a non-national, non-ethnic, non-religious, and non-political basis, reflecting its commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equality, and neutrality.

Founded by a passionate Black African woman who immigrated to Canada in early 2000s as a refugee, WWK  is created with the goal of providing the resources and support that newcomers need to navigate their new lives. As a former refugee coordinator, the founder has firsthand knowledge of the struggles refugees face, and with the help of WWK , she has created a vital resource for those in need, offering comprehensive settlement services including language support, employment training, cultural integration, and spiritual care.

Mission:

Our mission is to be a collective voice for African newcomers in Saskatoon and beyond, fostering a sense of belonging while addressing the socioeconomic challenges faced by vulnerable individuals and families. Through collaborative efforts and community engagement, we raise financial resources and collect in-kind donations to provide vital assistance, improve livelihoods, and foster sustainable development for refugees and newcomers to Canada.

Vision:

Our vision is to continue supporting refugees, newcomers, and vulnerable populations through settlement assistance, employment training, poverty reduction, and community integration initiatives.
