War Child's mission is to help children in war-affected communities reclaim their childhood through access to education, opportunity and justice. War Child takes an active role in raising public awareness around the impact of war on communities and the shared responsibility to act.

COVID-19 is affecting the countries in which we operate at different levels. Without support, the virus represents a significant threat to their vulnerable communities due to ongoing conflict, low resources, and limited public health and water infrastructure. Responding to the crisis in conflict-zones is challenging but we are uniquely placed to respond quickly, nimbly, and creatively to unforeseen crises.

War Child is adapting programming in accordance with local regulations. We are working to expand our Radio Based Distance-Education Program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Your support will help us to scale up this program as the need arises in the face of the global pandemic. In Sudan, we are distributing dignity kits to women which contain information on COVID-19 and how they can best help prevent its spread.

Children and families living in conflict zones need us now more than ever. We must stand together in empathy and in action to face this challenge.
