About This Charity

Our Mission

The Western Development Museum is the keeper of Saskatchewan’s collective heritage. The Museum shares the province’s unique sense of place with all people for their understanding and enjoyment – recognizing that the legacy of the past is the foundation for a sustainable future.

About Our Charity

The Western Development Museum is the largest human history museum in the province of Saskatchewan with exhibit locations at Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Saskatoon and Yorkton. The four exhibit locations of the WDM are recognized by theme:

• History of Transportation - Moose Jaw

• Heritage Farm & Village - North Battleford

• 1910 Boomtown - Saskatoon

• Story of People - Yorkton

Each of the four branches has a component of the new Winning the Prairie Gamble exhibits. These exhibits were created for Saskatchewan’s centennial in 2005 and chronicle the province’s first 100 years in confederation.

The WDM has one of the most extensive collections of western Canadian history and continues to collect, preserve, maintain and present the collection to the general public.
