Western Sky Land Trust protects critical watersheds in our region. We conserve vital habitats and provide managed public access for recreation and education. We also work with other agencies and organizations to further protect and enhance natural areas. We champion the conservation of environmentally sensitive lands that support the health of our watersheds.

In the heart of Alberta’s breathtaking landscape, something remarkable is happening; an initiative that recognizes the irreplaceable value of the watersheds that have shaped our culture and character for generations. Western Sky is working hand-in-hand with dedicated landowners to safeguard the very lifeblood of our region - the river corridors and pristine intact landscapes that define our sense of place - ensuring climate resilience, human wellness, and natural areas that can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Discover Our Conservation Journey: For the past 20 years, we have preserved over 23,000 acres and are currently working on an additional 2000 acres, of precious watershed habitat and agricultural lands across the municipal districts of Rocky View, Foothills, Wheatland, Bighorn, Kneehill, Newell, and Warner. But our job is far from complete. The landscapes we cherish still face countless threats. We hope you will join us on this important conservation journey.
