Our Mission
The White Wind Zen Community is the Sangha of students practising in Ven. Anzan Hoshin roshi's Lineage at the Zen Centre of Ottawa (Dainen-ji, the main monastery) and its branch practice centres (Wolfville, Nova Scotia and Harrow, England) or groups.
The main purpose of the Community is to provide a context in which the Transmission of the complete teachings, practice and realization of the Way of Dogen's Lineage of Zen can take place.
About WHITE WIND ZEN COMMUNITY
The White Wind Zen Community offers a comprehensive and integral format of practice for students in the Ottawa, Canada area as well as a Long Distance Training Program for students around the world.
The Community was founded in 1985 and has several aspects: the Northern Mountain Order, which is the monastic core of the community and the community of lay practitioners (formal, general, associate and public students).
