about

Our Mission

To provide decent, safe and affordable housing to low and modest income households, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, and to contribute to increasing the supply and availability of affordable housing.

About WIGWAMEN INCORPORATED

Wigwamen Incorporated is Ontario's oldest and largest urban Indigenous housing provider with 210 units scattered throughout the City of Toronto, a 92-unit apartment building for families and singles in Scarborough, a 103-unit apartment complex for seniors in downtown Toronto, a 60-unit apartment complex in the West Hill area of Toronto, a 145-unit apartment complex in the West Donlands, a 115-unit apartment building in Scarborough, and a 41-unit apartment building in Ottawa.

Wigwamen Incorporated was very pleased to have been selected to purchase one of the two Pan Am / Parapan Am Games Athletes' Village residences after completion of the 2015 Games.  The building was converted to 145 affordable rental units, including five four-bedroom townhouses.  This project, located in a wonderful neighbourhood in downtown Toronto, is fully occupied and in high demand.

Wigwamen offers a number of Special Programs to its tenants, including a Children's Book Club, a Back-to-School Backpack Program, a New Baby Gift Basket Program, a Dear Santa Program, a Flower Power Contest, and a Post-Secondary Scholarship Program.  In addition, we hold an Annual Barbeque each summer, and serve Christmas Dinner to tenants at our buildings each year.
